I didn't get my sign-in code
Skorway does not use passwords. To sign in, we email you a 6-digit code, and it works for 10 minutes.
If the code has not arrived:
- Check your spam, junk and promotions folders.
- Make sure you typed your email address correctly.
- Wait a minute or two. Emails are sometimes slow.
If the code no longer works, it has probably been more than 10 minutes. Go back to the sign-in page, enter your email again to get a new code, and use the code from the most recent email.
If you see Google or Apple buttons on the sign-in page, you can use those to sign in instead.

My browser says the microphone is blocked
Speaking needs your microphone, so your browser asks for permission first. If you chose to block it, or the browser blocked it for you, here is how to fix it:
- Click the icon at the left of the address bar.
- Find Microphone and set it to Allow.
- Try again. If nothing changes, reload the page.
On a Mac, the system can block the microphone too:
- Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.
- Turn the switch on for your browser.
- If your Mac asks, quit and reopen the browser.
Also check that no other app, such as a video call, is using the microphone at the same time.
If this happens during a mock, fix it as quickly as you can: the clock of the current part keeps running while you change the settings.

How do I get a refund?
You can get a full refund within 7 days of payment, as long as you have not taken a paid mock with that order.
You can do it yourself:
- Open Account.
- Find the order in your list of receipts.
- Press Refund.
The money reaches you in 5 to 10 days.
If you do not see the Refund button for an order, it is probably more than 7 days since you paid, or a paid mock was taken with that order. Those orders cannot be refunded.
Your free mock does not count as a paid mock.

I think my Speaking band is wrong
Here is how a Speaking answer is scored:
- Every answer is transcribed first.
- Listen and Repeat is scored by comparing the words heard with the sentence you were asked to repeat.
- Take an Interview answers are scored by AI (Claude) against Skorway's rubric. Each answer is scored twice, independently. If the two scores differ by more than half a band, a third pass is made, and the median counts.
Because scoring starts from a transcript, background noise, speaking very softly or sitting far from the microphone can cause words to be missed.
If you still think your band is wrong, ask a person to look at it:
- Open the feedback page for that Speaking answer.
- Choose Ask for a re-score.
- A person reviews it and replies by email within three working days.
Remember that Skorway bands are practice estimates, not official scores.

I lost my connection during a mock. What happened to my answers?
Your answers save automatically as you go, so everything saved before the connection dropped is kept. Speaking recordings also upload as you go.
The timer does not pause, though. Each part of the mock has its own timer, and it is kept by our server, not by your browser. It keeps running while you are offline, and also if you close the tab.
To carry on:
- Reconnect to the internet.
- Open your dashboard and resume the mock.
- Look at the clock before you continue, because time has passed while you were away.
If a part's time ran out while you were offline, that part was submitted with the answers saved up to that moment.
Before your next mock, use the most stable connection you can, and pause big downloads or video streams on the same network.
