Which browsers and devices work for Speaking?

Speaking works in recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox on a desktop or laptop computer. Keeping your browser up to date avoids most problems.

Phones work too. Skorway is a website, so you open it in your phone's browser. There is no Skorway app in the app stores yet.

If you use a phone, we recommend:

• headphones, ideally with a built-in microphone
• a quiet room, because background noise can make your answers harder to understand
• a stable connection, since recordings upload as you go

On any device, the browser asks for permission to use the microphone, and a microphone check runs before Speaking starts. Allow the microphone when you are asked.
