How close is a Skorway band to the real one?
After every official test we ask our users for their score. This page shows what they told us, side by side with the band Skorway predicted.
How a Skorway band is made
- 1. Rubrics from the public guidesOne rubric per task type, written from ETS's published descriptions of the 2026 test, in the language of the 1 to 6 band scale.
- 2. Two passes, sometimes threeEvery interview, email and discussion answer is scored twice, independently. If the two differ by more than half a band, a third pass decides.
- 3. People check a sampleA rater reviews a random sample of scored answers. Disagreements of a full band go to a second rater.
- 4. Calibration against real scoresAs official scores come in, each task type is checked against them, and the result is published here.
