How does the vocabulary builder work?

The vocabulary builder has 760 academic words from the 2026 test, in 38 sets of 20, from everyday academic verbs to topics such as science, history and business. Many of the words come from our own reading and listening passages. You find it on the Practice page.

Each set has two modes:

  1. Flashcards. You see the word, then tap Show the meaning to see its definition and an example sentence. Tap I knew it or Still learning.
  2. Quiz. You see a definition and pick the word that matches it from four choices.

A flashcard for the word analyze: the set name and progress at the top, then the definition, an example sentence, and the buttons I knew it and Still learning

Words you miss go back into the round and come first the next time you open the set, so you spend your time on the words you do not know yet. The bar at the top of each set and on the vocabulary page shows how many words you know.

The first set is free. A pass opens the other 37, see Pricing.
